So, how'd you guys go?
I got 22/25 on test B.
Pretty happy, even though I thought I got them all correct. Looks like most people got really good scores.
Some other info I've been told about bio that might interest you:
Mary - Ilovetotalkaboutwars - Familari said that Bio is not scaled, so potentially everyone could get a H1. And my bio tutor told me this year they are reducing the number of essay questions to 2 on the biomed exam :D
-
Bah, back in my day we had half a dozen 10 mark responses.
I got 15/25 on the semester 1 midsem from memory
-
Yeah, I heard it was 6 last year as well .
I would have got <15 too if I hadn't done VCE bio.
Only subject I'm worried about (maybe even failing) is stats :(
-
I think there were 7 last year... Not completely sure though.
Despite feeling like I didn't understand stats for the whole semester, it ended up being my best subject that semester. Talking to people it seems like this was pretty common. I had Owen and his exam was very fair.
-
That's comforting. I feel like I don't get it at all. I've got Ray as a lecturer. He's nice, but I never have a clue what he's on about.
I've been getting 9-10/10 for each quiz, but we get 3 attempts at them, so it doesn't really mean much..
-
The stats exam is scaled, which is why people do well on it.
X/120 -> X/100
-
Haha, they've stopped doing that Russ. Mine was out of 100 anyway.
But Owen did include a few multi-choice questions from the weekly quizzes. I think understanding the tutorial problems should be your focus. I'm sure you'll be fine (:

24 on test D. :)
And I heard that there are going to be 4 essay questions, not 2.
-
The essay questions aren't true essays, relax. They're certainly not particularly intimidating, they give you marks for sentence composition ffs
-
I failed my FoEN midsem and got a H1 overall. Midsem schmidsem.
EDIT: And sat one a couple of days ago after 5 hours of drinking and a spliff circle. Oops.
-
Don't worry about them reducing the number of long answer questions in first year - they've increased the number dramatically in the double subject in second year :D
-
The jump is even more pronounced when you get to 3rd year :(

Rustic, whats the greatest amount of standard drinks youve ever consumed in one sitting?
