Anyone scared that their scientific calculator would just randomly run out of batteries during an exam? LOL :uglystupid2:
-
That's why you bring 2 scientific calculators into the exam, with one that uses solar-power in conjunction with battery. ;D (Casio ftw!)

Can you? I didn't think you could...

Heck bring in 3!! If 2 calculators fail, then i think it's safe to say that luck isnt on your side :P
-
Thought you wer eonly allowed to bring in one.. O_O
I swear I can't remember the last time I changed the batteries for my Sci Calc, and I remember using it in primary school.. LOLOL
-
Can you even change the texas instruments ones?? Ive got the TI-30XB MultiView and 3x TI-30XIIB - I think i should be safe ;D
-
my scientific calc that i used in my chem exam still ran on the same battery since yr 7.
needless to say i brought 2 calcs in as well :)
-
It's definitely allowed. I brought in 2 scientific calculators for Environmental Science last year for both exams and they didn't say anything. I even asked my teacher to double check and he said it was okay. I'm pretty sure the same applies to all sciences. Better safe than sorry. ^^

This is kinda hijacking the thread, but would we be able to bring in 2 graphics calculators to our math exams?

You probably could, but i think an extra set of batteries shuold suffice (unless your cas explodes or something...)

Sometimes extra batteries aren't enough... mine died just as I started my spesh SAC and I put spare batteries in and it still wouldn't turn on :(

Yeah, and when it freezes you need to take the coin battery out and leave it for 5 minutes, so a second would definitely be good.

+1, thats what my teachers say to. AND, screwdrivers aren't allowed either (classified as 'weapons' by VCAA)...

You can bring as many as you like + a scientific (not sure how many of these you can have)
-
Give one to exam supervisor if they don't already have spares
-
Just replace the batteries like a week before with duracell ones
-
im taking 4 casios :D theres no way all four calc will die

Yeah, I'm sure I found a VCAA publication that stated you could only bring one, because technically you could do 2 questions at a time (Good luck trying to do that :P)
Moderator action: removed real name, sorry for the inconvenience

woah fine... one calc with 100 batteries

How will you put them in if screwdrivers (to open up the calc) aren't allowed either?
(yes, VCAA has some stupid rules)
-
I brought more than 1 calculator into my further exams last year.
-
just buy a new one if you're worried! better safe than sorry! there like 20bux it be worth! saves the worry too
