Is it possible? For some reason, I just don't like biomed anymore, and I no longer want to be a doctor... Plus is it worth it... or should I just see through the biomed course?

My friend did exactly that this year. Not sure exactly what GPA was needed but she was nowhere near the top.

yeah you can definitely do it, your average will probably need to be somewhere ~75% to ensure you have a good chance. you'd probably be back in first year if you dont mind doing that..
think about what you want to do after, if its something like law realise you can do postgrad of that (among other things) in any degree..
-
If you transfer midyear only your enter will count so no need to worry about marks...
-
have u taken any subjects in commerce as ur breadth before making ur decision? Coz u can still transfer to commerce after a full of biomed since u can just transfer ur credits to ur commerce course so u wudnt have wasted a year...
-
You will still have to do 3 years even if you transfer at the end of this year, regardless of whether or not you did commerce breadth

Oh really? That's a shame to hear :( What field of commerce did you want to go into btw? Good luck with your swap! Commerce has amazing contact hours so that's one huge advantage in comparison to biomed :P
-
Another opportunity to point out my 12 contact hours a week :D
-
Yes, but if you pursue commerce-esque job prospects... have fun dealing with money your entire life.
-
I'm just considering the pros and cons of transferring. I'll probably just see through the biomed course, I reckon subjects will be more interesting next year... Chemistry is just draining my life at the moment, thank god there's only a few more weeks of it left...
-
How many contact hours would a typical 1st year commerce student have?
-
I think it's around 12 depending on what breadth subject you pick.

It gets infinitely better next year, 1st year is horrible compared to it

Agreeing with Russ here. I'm in second year and am finding it much more interesting. In first year, there were the inevitable "What am I doing here?" moments (usually in stats or physics, haha) but second year has been much better so far.
