Friday 17 - From Molecule to Malady
What are yours like?

June 6th - Democracy.
June 10th - Business Law.

Annoyed because I was planning to go away before the end of the exam period.. Argh
Oh well, this is very good for me study-wise though since then I can only focus on one subject at a time doing a small amount per day over a week before each haha, awesome. going to be very un-stressful :)
-
7th - Calculus 1
8th - Biology of Cells and Organisms
9th (9:30) - Chemistry 1
9th (14:15) - Intro Micro
Yay for getting them over and done with at the start of the exam period!

I've always had pretty nice timetables. But his semester OMFG....
two subjects clashing with each other, so it says here that
Examination Clashes
Students with examination clashes will have their examinations for those clashing subjects held in Wilson Hall on the scheduled date of the exam. One will be held in the morning session and the other in the afternoon session. On the day of your exams please ignore the published seating lists outside Wilson Hall and instead report directly to the Supervisor-in-Charge of Wilson Hall. Candidates will NOT be allowed to leave Wilson Hall during the lunch interval and are thus advised to bring a prepared lunch as well as study materials relating to the afternoon exam.
which is GREAT but... one of those subjects has a computer exam in the computer lab. FML

When does the examiniation period end and when does semester 2 start again?

3rd June - Final essay due (worth 60%, kind of the equivalent) Developing World
I'm attempting the take home exam right now. It's killing me, it really is.
It's not as hard as you might think. It's only 250 words and you can take a LOT of it from the textbook. Then you need to use another resource, so just look at the references for the chapter that you've read and voila. Remember, it's only 250 words so you don't need an intense, in depth response, just a demonstration that you understand the basics :)

It's a lack of interest that's really making me difficult for me. The subject was not at all what I expected.

That sucks, it is hard to study something you're not interested in. Just try to find the 5 you're most interested in I guess, or alternatively find 5 that you can draw right from the textbook and you won't need too much effort anyway. The theories and approaches are pretty straightforward, as is the poverty question.

Why the heck do you have double exams?
Haha there's a practical for anatomy and for chinese we have a written, listening and oral exam ;D
-
What does the anatomy practical involve?
-
So does biomedicine have only 3 exams whilst science has four?
-
What does the anatomy practical involve?
Demonstrator names muscle, you indicate it. You have to name pins that have been stuck in the prosection etc. Some subjects require you to work on a cadaver over the semester and isolate certain elements etc.
So does biomedicine have only 3 exams whilst science has four?
Depends on breadth

Nah not really. We have the exam in one of the med building where they run a powerpoint slide show on the computers. Then you get a separate sheet where you answer multi choice questions based on the diagrams on the powerpoint slides. Thank god we don't have to dissect for the exams, I'll probably make a horrible mess...
-
Oh really? That's what I heard from my anatomy friends...maybe they were talking about honours or something
-
6 June - Advanced Heat and Mass Transport Processes

Gay I finish in the third week yet again
-
6- Chemistry for Biomedicine

9, 16, 20, 22 - pretty decent spread, shame that the two 'harder' subjects are right next to each other though.

Are you doing Complex Analysis this semester? Or have you already done it?
-
Already done it, twas fun.
-
Already done it, twas fun.
I've hard mixed stories from it. Some say it's easier than Real Analysis because for the non pure maths majors, you've been exposed to the pure side of maths already so Complex is easier to understand.
Some say it's fun (majority being pure maths majors).
Others say it's harder than Real and just screws up your mind even more.
-
it was probably an easier subject than Real Analysis (AM2, for me), but that's because we didn't really do too much theory in our course; uom undergrad maths is a sham.
