8th June- Bio
16th June- Biopsychology
24th June- Secret Life

Annoyed because I was planning to go away before the end of the exam period.. Argh
Oh well, this is very good for me study-wise though since then I can only focus on one subject at a time doing a small amount per day over a week before each haha, awesome. going to be very un-stressful :)

I've always had pretty nice timetables. But his semester OMFG....

two subjects clashing with each other, so it says here that

Quote
Examination Clashes

Students with examination clashes will have their examinations for those clashing subjects held in Wilson Hall on the scheduled date of the exam. One will be held in the morning session and the other in the afternoon session. On the day of your exams please ignore the published seating lists outside Wilson Hall and instead report directly to the Supervisor-in-Charge of Wilson Hall. Candidates will NOT be allowed to leave Wilson Hall during the lunch interval and are thus advised to bring a prepared lunch as well as study materials relating to the afternoon exam.

which is GREAT but... one of those subjects has a computer exam in the computer lab. FML

I'm attempting the take home exam right now. It's killing me, it really is.

It's not as hard as you might think. It's only 250 words and you can take a LOT of it from the textbook. Then you need to use another resource, so just look at the references for the chapter that you've read and voila. Remember, it's only 250 words so you don't need an intense, in depth response, just a demonstration that you understand the basics :)

It's a lack of interest that's really making me difficult for me. The subject was not at all what I expected.

That sucks, it is hard to study something you're not interested in. Just try to find the 5 you're most interested in I guess, or alternatively find 5 that you can draw right from the textbook and you won't need too much effort anyway. The theories and approaches are pretty straightforward, as is the poverty question.

What does the anatomy practical involve?

Demonstrator names muscle, you indicate it. You have to name pins that have been stuck in the prosection etc. Some subjects require you to work on a cadaver over the semester and isolate certain elements etc.

Depends on breadth

Nah not really. We have the exam in one of the med building where they run a powerpoint slide show on the computers. Then you get a separate sheet where you answer multi choice questions based on the diagrams on the powerpoint slides. Thank god we don't have to dissect for the exams, I'll probably make a horrible mess...

Already done it, twas fun.

I've hard mixed stories from it.  Some say it's easier than Real Analysis because for the non pure maths majors, you've been exposed to the pure side of maths already so Complex is easier to understand.

Some say it's fun (majority being pure maths majors).

Others say it's harder than Real and just screws up your mind even more.

Post by: dcc on May 29, 2011, 12:00:05 pm
it was probably an easier subject than Real Analysis (AM2, for me), but that's because we didn't really do too much theory in our course; uom undergrad maths is a sham.
