Title: Bonding between phosphate molecule and deoxyribose molecule
Post by: Christiano on May 17, 2011, 08:03:16 pm
It's a question about the bonding of a DNA molecule, and the answer says its hydrogen bonds - I thought the bonds between these 2 molecules were covalent bonds, formed from a condensation reaction?

The phosphate-sugar bond (phosphodiester) is covalent.

Hydrogen bonding is only for the base-base pairing
