Title: Help with this question.

Hey guys - I just need some help with this question I came across in the Textbook.
It's actually a Further Maths question (i dont doo spesh, I was told only smartt people do it).
anyways I figured that this Question was quite High calibre and was out of furthers league.
I've attached a picture of the page because it's hard to explain.
