"Identify and explain two management functions that will be required in the boardroom of the James Hardie Corporation".

what exactly is a management function? Is that POLC?

Management fuction refers to the particular area of responsibilty of a manager. Such areas include: opperations, Human resources, Finance/accounting, and marketing
I don't think the question is refering to POLC

Well i think so however as the question is adressing function in the board room im not 100%,
our class is still finishing up LSO's in context, not yet up to the POLC area of study

Pretty sure what studyhound said is right. As for which ones, anything can be right if you justify it adequately. For these purposes, I'd probably go with obvious ones for James Hardie such as HR (looking after employees affected by asbestos) and PR (mitigating damages caused by a bad public image).
