Influences of American English on SAE
cns1511:
Does anyone know any good sites (or have information already) on the influences of American English on Standard Australian English?
I have to write an essay on it for school, and can only find a few different points.
I need to identify which subsystems each influence belongs to and provide examples.
Any help would be great, thanks. :)

there's stuff on Australian English on Wikipedia, talks about "Americanization"
Eriny:
I always spell 'Americanization' with the 'z', even though I don't use the 'z' for 'globalisation' and so on. It seems appropriate.

Yeah, and bloody microsoft used to have the default language for Microsoft spellcheck as U.S. English. Don't know if it's still like that, my Microsoft Word is horribly outdated :P
