Live feed has up-to-the-minute updates on EVERYTHING

Eg: x is friends with y,   z became a fan of y,   x is in a relationship with z  etc.


But News feed has like major stuff (photos, status updates, notes etc.), but these are NOT in order!

Like the thing at the top of the home page may be a status update from yesterday, but the photos someone uploaded 2 hours ago may be at the bottom of the home page.

The news feed is completely useless if it's out of order and the live feed gives me even more useless information.

My understanding of it is:
Live feed = current up dates that are happening whilst you're on facebook
News feed = updates that have been made whilst you were away from facebook. Ie, reading a status, then logging on the following day and finding that that particular status has had updates
