Can you just walk into the courtroom, take a seat, and watch the proceedings?  Sounds quite entertaining :P

Not really. I saw some other people taking notes. It was fine and quite entertaining (I shouldn't be saying this about armed burglars and drug addicts but still.....)

Haha I guess you were luckier than me then...! ...LOL yeah some of the things people do...it's beyond me really...

Yes you can! Just make sure you don't bring any knives or guns and you're fine to go in :p They make everyone go through a scan and they scan all bags (same procedure as at the airport), but that's it...and yes, it can be quite entertaining!

Yep you certainly can (at least the magistrate's court)
Just make sure you go in, bow to the judge then take the seat. When you go out, bow to the judge, then go out :P It might be obvious for some but I didn't know :(

I get really self-conscious bowing to the judge. Am I the only one? >_<

Mine is working

NB - I would advise against buying textbooks until you have been to at least the first lecture. There is a decent chance your text book list is not 100% accurate :P

Highly recommended.

Though, the chance of it not being accurate is low. You should take the opportunity to get your books early if possible as the queues for the bookshop are horrendous come first week of uni (all the 2nd+ years getting in on it). Otherwise, just get it later. Unless it's some subject that relies on close reading/reference of the text, you can probably survive without it until closer to exams.

Is there anywhere other than the University bookshop/s that sell the texts?
