Pharmacy (if you are transferring from an undergraduate degree) requires full year results because transfer is only possible at the beginning of the year.

Someone who did first year engineering with me last year transferred at the beginning of this year into pharmacy at Monash . Wow.

I think I've said this before but you probably won't get full credit even if you do transfer from engineering or science. The subjects are all made so that they are prerequisites or coreqs for each other:
http://www.pharm.monash.edu.au/students/undergrad/courses/pharmacy-coursemap-with-prereqs.pdf

If you transfer from science and let's say you did a year of first year chemistry, they will probably only give you exemption for PAC1211 Physicochemical Basis of Pharmacy and/or PAC1121 Organic Chemistry. It's actually better NOT to get exemption in a way because the stuff in these units have *some* application to the pharmacy profession (i.e. not as 'general' as what you would do in other chemistry units). If you get exemption, the best thing is having heaps of free time! (but let's face it, you'd waste it anyway).

I don't see how you could get credit for PAC1311 Pharmacy, Health & Society I unless you're transferring from another pharmacy degree. So pretty much, you have to end up doing the 4 years anyway. You cannot overload. You cannot do summer units. If you fail then it's too bad - no supplementary exams for pharmacy = you repeat the unit the year after. Failing puts you in the cohort below you.

Also, yes there's a lot of people who transferred into it and like TinyApple said, there's only semester one (start of year) intakes for pharmacy.

EDIT: also http://www.pharm.monash.edu.au/students/undergrad/credit-2007.html

If i was considering doing umat in case i wanna try for pharmacy, and not med.

Do i still need to do that interview stuff or whatever?

Um, not sure if anyone does pharmacy on this thread but let me tell you this - if you have the enter you're gonna get in. I'm doing pharmacy/commerce and my peers had umat scores of 41 and still got in......I think pharmacy isn't very high on anyone's list these days so people with much lower enters (enter of 90) can get in. umat is pretty much dismissed. so don't stress lol hope you get in :)

monash say that every year. cut off mark fluctuates but it is very very very low. they may as well not have it.

no interview for monash but there is for la trobe
i got the interview for la trobe and it's pretty easy going - very conversational and you go in with a group of about 6. As long as you are sociable and have some ideas as to why you'd like to do pharmacy then you're set :)

yeah um.....introduce yourself, why you want to do pharmacy. a lot of it is la trobe advertising themselves and the judges have personal jokes and it's like.....'that's great can we just finish the interview now?' lol. but the hardest part which isn't really too hard at all is where you get an item eg/ stapler, pen, highlighter and you have to describe what it is what it does etc like you would as a pharmacist :)

But in any case, Latrobe Pharmacy is all the way in Bendigo? If im right.. ?

it's in bendigo, but if you get 90+ i think you have a good chance to get in monash. Depends if your year has more high achievers going for it though.  pharm/comm is different though, high standards are still set for that - the lowest i've heard of is a high 94 enter.

So an 96 would do for that?
