lol, the Java client automatically uses your forum name as the name. "/0" is not a valid name.
'daniel.' is probably not valid either, or taken.
After your error message, type '/name <something else>' where <something else> is a new nickname and then /retry
--- End quote ---
Can you make me valid?
Why have I not been genetically engineered? You do realize this is genetic discrimination and prejudice. I guess I have to break the law and impersonate a 'valid' then.
shinny:
If there's anything wrong with your user, it's obviously the fullstop which I'm pretty sure isn't 'genetically' part of your name (not that names are even bound to your genes to begin with but hey, I'll play along).
EDIT: Testing from mIRC, I can't rename myself as shinny. so I'll assume that fullstops aren't allowed in IRC nicks. In this case, I guess /0 and daniel. should just go grab themselves a proper IRC client.
AppleThief:
If you use Firefox, there's an addon called Chatzilla which you can use to avoid installing a bigger program

You'll need to change your name manually in the Java client as per my instructions. You could also use the box on the bottom right of the client to change your name.

Not sure if that'll work for them considering;

Give it a try though I guess, and if all else fails, I don't think I needa repeat myself as to what needs to be done =T
