Education tax refund?

Is it true that we get $750 refunded with our books and school supplies?
Can people who get youth allowance be eligible ?

i tried calling them but couldn't get through..

i think you have to be:
Family Tax Benefit A,

so if you are, i think you are eligible. Just call up again, just to be sure.

but on the site it says youth allowance are allowed to get the ETR

yea, i think you also get if you have a health care card

You have to spend $1500 to get the full $750 back though

yea you only get 50% of it back.

yerh i have a older sibling she gets 1500 and i get 1500 (50%)- so i can spend 750 and get it all back?

No, if you spend $750 you get $375 back (I think). To get $750 back you need too claim $1500 on books/internet fees/PC/CAS calculators etc. Thanks to the ETR I am getting a new PC in a month or two :)

Well if you count your separate claims as one, yes, but technically since you can only claim them individual, no :p

If you have $1500 worth of receipts and your sibling does and you claim seperatly, combined 1.5k.
