I sure hope being a doctor doesn't involve predicting the next shape in a series of shapes or else I'm quite screwed.

stonecold I think you should calmdown :) You don't need full marks to ace the UMAT. On the other hand, I should probably try to improve from my -14 marks per section score.

I know you don't need full marks, but I'm worried about the percentiles.  My MedEntry ones aren't great, and I've no idea how I am going to rank above at least 90% of people who take the test...not to mention the majority of whom are very intelligent.

Just do some drills and if you have time exams and you should improve.  Try to use evidence from the text to back up your answers in S1 + S2.  Problem solving and S3 can become quite tricky, so you just have to practice them to get better at it.

oh ive forsaken S3..
What's your medentry percentiles? if u do the umat like the past year paper, ull see how much easier it is compared to medentry. a 40 percentile in medentyr is probably like a 70 in reality

In 2008 it was 93rd%ile, whilst in 2009 it was was 91st%ile.  It changes every year.  To be safe, I'd say you need 95%ile + which is very difficult.

This is is just for MBBS @ Monash by the way.

A-incorrect as the bites on her left felt considerable than those on the right and esi-oil was used on the left.
B-correct as u cant say either products work as a control wasnt used but as the bites on the left were better than those on the right u can safely conclude that pine-elix delays revovery.
C-incorrect, no proof of this.
D-incorrect as one hand felt better than the other after the same period of application.

Yeah.  B is the best of a bunch of shit alternatives.  They try to trick you by saying they don't relieve pain, when they actually do.

Well you can't conclude that they actually do, hence why B is the correct alternative. Proper critical thinking in this situation should lead you to believe that without a proper control, both treatments having a negative effect is a viable possibility.

^ I get what you mean.  Without a control you can't make any claims.  In reality,  they're being used to relieve pain.  But yeah, you can't say this because there was no control.

Good question to remind us NOT to make claims without a control experiment conducted. :)

the explanation is pretty spot on- just have to trial and error. I looked at what Alex and Sam said, saw it matched up and designated truth to them. Then I saw dimitri and harrison didn't contradict sam and alex, and since dimitri was lying it means sam stole them. My thinking process.
