Section 1 Disastrous mental problems driving me CRAZY!

Okay  :)  - This is the only question, or style of question besides the "Pick the Middle", that drives me NUTS in this UMAT.
I've worked on these style of questions, yet I still get lost, and ultimately do get the correct answer (Let's, say 6 mins to understand the scenario and another 2 minutes to solve each question! - Should get scenario at max, in 1.5 minutes and each question in approx 60 sec! )

HELP! Would be GREATLY appreciated.

Question, attached - Probably, one of the easier of the ones I have attempted - but nonetheless PAINFUL!

Not sure about whether they get that complicated exactly, but questions do appear which you basically get forced into skipping as they'll clearly take too long.

Yea, thats what I was thinking myself... that ther'd HAVE to be a few that you'd have to skip. The thing is, that you know would there be enough on there to screw up your S1 result. I read Ninwa, she said that she had skipped or guessed in other words, about 1/3rd of S1, to ultimately get a %ile just meeting the cut-off.

Now it seems to me is that what they want you to do in the UMAT is FAIL. I don't know why you would put yourselves through this sort of thing.

I also skip things that look like they take too long or start to push the clock. It would take me 8 or 10 minutes sometimes to crack a problem, drawing up tables and diagrams and what not and just generally thinking it through.

According to medentry most people dont even finish and the time hits you like a brick in the face, so i reckon its just better to guess a couple, in that 8 or 10 minutes you could solve maybe 6 or 7 other questions and hopefully get them right. If you're going to guess though try make a half educated guess or use process of elimination or try knock out at least 1 retarded answer if you can. If you knock out one retarded one your chance goes from 25% to 33% of getting it right but you guys knew that already right?

Just my philosophy
