i think they really need to come up with something better than umat.  it used to work, but now it is seriously just a joke.  perhaps a series of intensive interviews or something with lots of situational activities.  perhaps even compulsary work experience in a hospital or something.

for mine, the umat is just dumb, pointless and honestly comes down to luck for many.

there are always the select few who will dominate it no matter what, and i have a lot of respect for those people, but tbh it doesn't mean shit in terms of being a good healthcare professional.

for the dad and son question i put
-innocent
-is affecting both his marriage and relationship with dad < probably wrong (was running out of time.  it was because his wife was cheating or not spending time at home...

i had to rush and stuffed everything. :(

yeah i had to rush that one too. what was the answer to "you can trust me"? i was tossing up between not getting mad and not telling anyone.

I wrote down not telling anyone because of the conversation with his dad and I thought there was a relation between the two. So the wife thought if she said anything he would tell his dad and then the dad would judge her or whatever...

i picked 'please give me something to believe in' lol.

i still can't believe the questions were exactly the same!

But the ordering of the answers were different apparently (ie. ABCD ordering)- ah but I get what you mean... some people in session 1 could have told session 2 the questions?! :O

I disagree with sadistic sine she it was stipulated that she is a always by the rules type, not someone who gains pleasure from watching other people suffer: way too extreme imo

UMAT Funny things:
  • McCurry
  • Serial coughers
  • Watches, Level 2 were allowed to wear them, but not place on desk... okay...
other levels were banned from wearing but were supposed to place desk
and I think I read that the remaining level was banned from having them...
  • The fact that we got a view of a wall instead of a pristine racecourse
  • Very mature test takers
  • I brought a broken watch in... I thought it said 7am when I borrowed it from dad but it said 10pm LOL

I almost forgot how crammed with AZNs that place gets every Jul/Aug. Soon, they'll have to shift to bigger venue, split Caulfield into 2 separate venues or start laying out desks and seats out on the open lawn beside all that horse and greyhound manure.

What percentage of questions answered correctly do you think you'd need to get in the 95th percentile.

I know no-one knows, but what do you think?

I reckon probably about 70-75+%
