Wow, VTAC actually made a mistake that resulted in you getting a higher score. That happens so rarely that I wouldn't complain, lol.

Anyone, is it possible that you can still get a study score for a subject you didn't complete? Because that 29 would be awarded after scaling, so if it scales high, chances are you got a sub-25 score.

The 'view your results service' won't have that result on it because it wasn't achieved in 2007.

In that case, definitely call VTAC or speak to your coordinator. I'm sure they can sort it out and will issue you new results. You may or may not end up with a slightly lower ENTER, given that VTAC/VCAA don't lower peoples scores as a result of their mistake (take methods last year for example).

Good luck!

Hehe, it's sort of like how when you spot supermarket mistakes, you get it free.

I think that policy is wrong and unfair though. Technically, they are hurting people. It meddles up the aggregate-to-ENTER positioning (especially with the Methods problem), and it trades off some people who could have gotten a better ENTER for those who didn't deserve the better ENTER.

The students who performed worse in Exam 2 than Exam 1 benefited from their mistake. It mainly affected the 40+ group of students.

They accidentally gave Exam 1 and Exam 2 equal weighting, but under the new course, it was to have 33% and 67% weighting, respectively.

Correction: 22% and 44% weighings for exam 1 and exam 2 respectively.

(34% for SACs)

I think that was their policy with the methods stuff-up last year, because you can imagine the uproar it would have caused if hundreds of students had their scores lowered.
I guess when it's just one person and the media isn't likely to find out, things are different.

that sucks pepsi :(
have you checked the middle band for your course? For some, doing certain subjects can add a few aggregate points.
good luck :)

Don't worry too much if you're on the fringe, usually its enough. Sometimes the ENTER required for a course in fact lowers. But I guess you're just going to have to wait until January.

If it's worth anything, I respect your integrity for informing VTAC of the mistake.

That is pretty mean form VTAC to lower YOUR ENTER because of THEIR mistake.
oping for an ENTER of 99+
