johnson i reckon is gonna play. i dont think we will play two spinners especially in perth, i reckon steve smith will play and beer will be a 12th man....

Why would selectors make a random pick in Beer, only for him to mix the cordial? Does not make sense.

Australian team should have dropped Punter as soon as he lost the ashes (again) He aint the player he used to be. Hodgey should of replaced him. As for the captaincy...dont really know. Probz Hussey. Oh and Marcus North shoulda never played. they shoulda just played D. Husseyy!!

And, Krejza did NOT fail. he was jibbed in that his last match was on an absolute road. Give him a fair enough pitch and he'll play decent.

Aus need to bowl Watto a bit more. And what about Michael Clarke. He is a decent bowler who can make a break through. Also Simon Katich can bowl. Not really understanding the captaincy at the moment. :S

on a side note, As a bowler, im reallyy loving watching jimmy Anderson bowl.

As previously mentioned, the selectors need a taste of their own medicine; I.e. Get shot.

If australia loses the ashes again, heads will roll. Hopefully hilditch's head will be among the many that will be rolling down kings street.

I also reckon hauritz deserves a recall. A 4-for and 145 should be a sign he is in form again. But I sense a tiff between him and the selectors. :(

You don't need a spinner on the WACA.

Yeeeah.. but Hauritz isn't in the squad for his batting.

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

LOL "mix the cordial". I agree, I don't see the point of calling up Beer and the likes if they aren't even going to play on Thursday.

It would be pointless if they didn't play (at least one spinner). If we go with 4 pace bowlers, I'm assuming the Australian selectors only chose Beer (uncapped and relatively unknown till now) to heap the attention onto him and take the heat off current under-performing players. As for Marcus North, he was never really that good to play international cricket.

Why call one up then?..

Hahaha Brad Hodge is absolutely spewing that Johnson Might play again.
i mean look at it from Hodges view. He makes 200 and gets dropped. \
Johnson, misses one game after a shocker then comes back without proving anything. Unfair to say the least. Selectors obviously have no faith in Victorians.

Err true. but that was back in the day of the bouncy, fast WACA!! Not really the same these days.
If anything our pace bowlers have not at all proved to worry the english so not point relying on the quicks.
Even Siddle hasnt done shit since his B'Day. We just reallllly need Johnson up and running again. He is s'posed to be our weapon.
Reason why our spinners are failing. They dont have a suport bowler at the other end to tie things up. meaning the batsman can play the spinner however they wish.
See: Warne/McGrath :P

its not 100% concrete, and the picture almost tells the story
why on earth, are we playing two spinners at perth!
once we lose this one (kills me to say it)
selectors better go, i dont think all the blame can go onto ponting as the selectors just chop and change the squad everybloody test!

If he has overcome his problem with the short ball, then he should be fine.

why on earth, are we playing two spinners at perth!

No idea, seems stupid

We do need new selectors. badly.
