Good knock by Clarke. Ponting and Haddin also seem to have improved a bit :)

I knew him! He used to go to my old school, then he left for Haileybury.

lets just see if he is able to reproduce those figures again...

edit - or anywhere near those. - not saying hes bad.. but as many of you know, a huge number of players have shined on debut and then just become useless. e.g. jason krezja!

I really want Ponting to bat well in the coming tests and silence the critics. I reckon he's still got a few left in him, but if he makes any small mistakes he'll be giving the critics 'artillery' and they'll pressure the selector's into dropping him.

Seems to have a fair bit of potential, nearly had that hat-trick too!

I hope Starc can improve, as it was in this test he is pretty much the same as Mitchell Johnson, can make runs, but his bowling has much to be desired. But I guess it's really not fair to base a decision after viewing two innings... hope he can give us something in Hobart (I think that's where they're playing?), because we need to build our team for the future around a few of these guys.

Will be interesting to see how the 2 Aussie openers will go today. Hughes and Warner.
