What word or phrases would you "expunge" from our lexicon for being redundant, disingenuous or outright false, or misleadingly euphemistic or dysphemistic?

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

oh dear.

I think people inappropriately use the word 'complicated' or 'complex' too often. Basically, if you write something that is fairly easy to understand is complicated, then people do begin to think it's complicated, even though it isn't. But still, they're important words!

I exhaustively concur with Orwell in that I find inordinately verbose documents to be unworthy of credence. (see what I did there?)

I also hatehatehate the misuse of the word epic. Is it Lord of the Rings? Was it written by Milton? If no, it's probably not actually epic.

I too have an extreme dispredilection for sesquipedalian euphists whose pedagoguery amounts only to grandiloquent obfuscation.

I agree, though its legitimate use should be extended to Gone With the Wind.

a word that is commonly misused is " design ", although I admit it's not that bad aesthetically

actually... i really hate the word " lineage " . It looks so damn ugly and the non-diphthong is horribly unintuitive
