our school is doing matrices, business maths and networks. seems pretty simple at the moment, weve  had a few tests to see where we are at, and some of the kids in the class are struggling with the ideas of outliers etc.

I recommend NOT doing number patterns... I did them last year and they are a very tricky spot on the exam! Not because the actual mathematics of it is difficult but becuase the questions are incrediably ambiguous, you see there are often different ways of interpretting each question... It was what i screwed up. WISH i hadn't of done it...
still got a 45 tho...

With high A's for exams 1+2: 37-41

With low A+'s for exams 1+2: 40-44

My friend, who scored 43 last year in Further, tells me Business Maths is more difficult than Matrices.
I have no idea what to believe. lol

My school does geo+trig, business and graphs+relations. Instead of doing the business module im considering studying matrices or sequences instead. Which one do you guys think is easier matrices or sequences?

I did Matrices, Networks, Geometry & Trig and Graphs and Relations.

Geometry and Trig is tricky but a fun module. I enjoyed the questions on it.

Matrices - pretty easy, basic stuff. I liked doing questions for exam 1, exam 2 questions got very repetitive and boring.

Graphs and Relations - awesome, easy and okay in terms of being interesting. Linear programming has some weird stuff but apart from that should be okay.

Networks - DO NOT TAKE THIS MODULE. IT IS WEIRD AND COMPLICATED AND STRESSFUL.

Yep. Just my two cents :)

4 modules?

my schools doing networks so i can't avoid it. I'm also finding the linear programming part challenging (the worded questions).

Her school wanted her to do Networks but as you can see, she hated it with passion so she picked up another module in her own time.  Doing 4 modules is good because it gives you a safety net in the exam.  If you don't like a particular module in the exam, you have the flexibility to change module but it does sacrifice your own time and as you would have already figured out, time is worth as much as gold in VCE.

Sums it up perfectly Gloamglozer.

I did waste some time learning matrices but I'm sure it was for the better because I really hated networks...shame I had to do a SAC on it too...

Linear programming worded qs are a lot harder in the text book than they are in the practice exams. In the practice exams they kinda guide you through it. But yes, heaps of practice is required for those types of questions. Remember the types too, like some of them are represented in different tables and use different equations :S
