does anyone know if you have to accept mid year transfer offers if you are given an offer?
im thinking of applying to transfer to arts from comm (on the proviso that i fail qm)
ive tried so hard in qm this semester and im still so fucked for the exam, ive basically put in peak effort this sem and if i fail then i wont be able to do any better next sem

so can i just apply and if i get offered a spot in arts but i dont fail qm (i can dream) can i just knock it back and continue in comm? or are your hands tied once you put in the application and receive the offer

Haha Stick I feel like we're both always on the eurovision wavelength  :P
I haven't heard any of his other stuff tbh, I'll definitely have to check it out.
Ooh actually on that note, have you listened to anything else from Loïc Nottet, the 19 year old who represented Belgium? He doesn't have any other original stuff but he did two covers of chandelier and elastic heart by sia which are fucking incredible. His voice is ridiculous lol

No I haven't, but I will now! It's funny actually, when I first heard his song I wasn't that keen on it, but it grew on me in a very short period of time. I couldn't put my finger on it but there was something familiar about it, until I showed one of my friends who thought it was a cover of a Lorde song. Then the penny dropped. XD We seriously need more Europop here though.

I don't know how far you got with the whole Swedish thing, but from all the videos I've been watching I've found out that Måns Zelmerlöw's surname is pronounced "Selmerlov". It's rather ironic because to me it sounds like "sell my love" while many are calling him one of the hottest performers to ever go on the show... OK I'm think I'm getting a bit obsessed now and developing a man-crush on him. Probably time to hit the books again. ::)

If you're thinking about making a transfer it's probably in your best interests to use the resources university gives (e.g past exams, tutor consultations, email, etc) to get over the line for QM. Basically so you have the best opportunity of transferring.

I thought about studying today and it's the thought that counts. Baby steps...

I think you should just go for it and apply. You never know how your marks will look like when everything is said and done so you might as well give it a shot  ;)

Personally, the thought of transferring to Science lingered at the back of my mind most of the semester as well. I could have all the engineering majors open to me as a potential safety net if I can't get into any med/health courses....but at the same time it's probs too late and idk if it's worth transferring just for that

There feels like there is a lot of pressure in science and I'm guessing that would be multiplied by a lot in biomed because everyone is focused on what they want to do postgrad. Compare that to other undergrad courses where all you need to do is pass ...

I regret not transferring to science for that very reason plus I'm better at maths which would have helped with my gpa :(. If you like the biology stuff a lot and are into research its definitely worth staying in biomed given the level 3 core subjects which are the only real unique feature of the degree.

All unimelb degrees are going to feel like there is pressure to perform well.  None of them lead to any real solid viable career path, other than postgrad. You're not going to feel any differently in another Unimelb undergrad degree...they're all as broad as one another.

Yeah but it depends on what you want to do. I want to teach psychology, so for me arts would be way less pressure than having to do pracs in science subjects etc.

Jag gillar, min van (I did about 2 weeks worth of swedish lessons haha)
Nej tack. Jag talar inte svenska och ankorna äter brödet.
(making the most of my limited vocab ;))

I had the same reaction, I didn't really like it at first but then I became obsessed with it. Now I keep singing WE'RE GONNA RAPAPAB TONIGHT at my friends and annoying them haha. You're right though, there needs to be more Eurotrash. Too many ballads this year imo.
Hahaha I can't blame you, he's definitely a beautiful man. My friend gasped a little bit when he looked directly into the camera during the bridge.
(*friend may or may not actually be me)

Ahhh fuck I was gonna start revising today. I even bought a 1kg bag of nuggets as study food but I ended up just eating half the nuggets and then not studying :(

Do you guys think it's enough to revise off lecture slides? Say, for biology. The textbook seems to go into a lot of detail, and I'm not sure whether we're meant to know it with that much depth.
Thanks!

HAHA I've managed to memorise lyrics to so many songs the past few days, but as to my subject content... XD
