has anyone done this unit? just got an email telling me that i can do it so might change from sta1010 to this. Anyone know if this unit's lecture is recorded and how hard the unit is? thanks

well...its a lot better than sta1010 ROFL (i hate stats), only doing it coz its apart of my first year sequence and i cant find any replacement maths for it

I've seen the tutes for this unit (one of my mates is taking the tutes). It seems decent, esp considering it teaches you useful things such as using Mathematica and LaTeX.

And you know you're going to be treated well, because the head of school hand-crafted this course.

EDIT: just saw the date, maybe this advice is a bit too late. I hope you've made the right choice though!

The lecturer (Simon Clarke) seemed quite proud about this unit when he introduced it in MTH 2010 lol....

Decided to stick with stats just coz I never done it before tho the lecturer constantly bringing up koala as example is annoying the heck out of me
