What is the cutoff for an A+ (out of 90) in this years horrific exam?
2011:
Aims-
English 35, Further 45+, Methods 35, Physics 32, Turkish 33, Legal 28.

To be honest, while doing and right after the exam I thought it was a pretty reasonable exam. I know I didn't do that well on it because I didn't manage my time well enough, and with the post-exam discussion realised I made some very silly mistakes, but overall the questions weren't that hard. (though I do think relativity was too wordy).

Compare it to, 2010 and 2009. Its a major difference, especially 2009 that year must have been a breeze.

I guess, if you compare to VCAA exams.
2009 was a ridiculously easy exam.
2010 was a bit easier, the cutoff was like 90%, not that much of a difference to this years.

But with the preparation done prior to the exam, a lot of the trial exams made this years exam look like a breeze. With that in mind, I don't think it's justifiable to call this years exam 'horrific'.

A horrific exam would be Chemistry 2009, where the cutoff was 78%, or this year's psychology midyear where the cutoff was 77%.

I actually didn't find '09 for chem horrific at all. The only thing i really noticed compared to other exams was the theory questions we're different and a couple of trick questions in the MC(i think).

I can say the same for my Psych midyear. I was predicting an 80/91 aka 88% cut off.

Looks like exam-pressure gets to people!

I heard they told the examiners to mark it a lot harder, which can really hurt some people for a subject such as psych.

86.67%

From: http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/statistics/2011/midyear/vce_physics_ga1_11.pdf
156/180 * 100 = 86.67

There goes my chance of an A
86.67% is the A+ cut off.
The A cut-off is 79% (142/180), so you might still have a chance?
