I finished the course over the holidays :P

I'm guessing they would have gone in a different order to the norm.

Our school does Electric Power, Sound then Light and Matter. It's so we can get that sound excursion out of the way == Honestly I think doing Light and Matter first is better since we learn about waves.

Yeah, my school is doing it in the order of: Light and Matter, Electric Power and Sound. It's also good with this order as L&M can be covered in the two weeks after exams/before the end of Term 2. That'd probably transfer into a bit of more time for the other topics (particularly for Electric Power; which needs it).

What's this sound excursion? Sounds interesting.

we breezed past electric power/sac a couple weeks ago, so we're about halfway through sound, but the sac is prac/report based (1.5 weeks away), which im very pessimistic about as i did poorly on last unit's prac write ups even when knowing everything :(...its funny how i prefer doing test-sacs for physics even though the pracs are so much more basic

btw jinny ur profile gif is great (i love jess alba?)

haha thanks :)

She's Scarlett Johansson, she kinda looks similar to Jessica Alba except she has blonde hair and a bit more meaty.

Yes but i do love Jess Alba as well. Sin City and Machete kicked ass!

I finished it using the Nelson book, overall it has less questions (at a glance, I haven't counted and compared them properly), but the questions are of a higher quality. Unit 4 was only 4 chapters (Nelson dedicates 1 chapter to one topic and most have 3 to 4 sets of questions + a set of review questions)

I had already completed Chapter 10 before the holidays (Light & Matter), so 3 chapters over a two week break is quite feasible. Particularly since Chapter 9 (Magnetism) only had the review questions, and Chapter 13 (Sound) isn't too bad; it's mostly stuff you'd already be familiar with, just applied in a different context.

This is just me personally. In class I'm following my teacher's pace, using the Heinemann book. We finished L&M and probably have a couple of weeks until the electric power sac.
