Was wondering if it was possible to do a bach of commerce whilst using my breadths to fulfill pre reqs for post grad health related courses.

Want to study commerce yet still interested in health related courses for post grad at Melb. Hmm... Or would it be better to do a bach of biomed/bach of commerce at Monash? Trying to minimise the length of my undergrad course...

I don't think you could.  You have six slots for breadth.  You need to complete 3 second year science subjects, which in turn require 4 subjects of prereqs in chemistry and biology in first year.

Considered flipping the degrees around and doing commerce breadth?  You could also apply to other universities (Monash and Deakin) as they don't require prereqs.

Hmm... I know of someone who has a guaranteed place into med. They're studying commerce at the moment... so.... is it only possible to take this pathway if I am in the same situation?

I've thought of flipping the degrees around but I think it might be more worthwhile to do a commerce degree instead. I'm still rather uncertain whether or not I want to do a health related post grad course so quite unwilling to close the doors to these degrees. Mmm... however, I do know that I'm not very interested in science research so if something goes haywire at post grad level, I hope to fall back onto a safety net (that is commerce) instead of being uncertain with what I should do with a general degree like science....

Hmm... do you think biomed/commerce at monash would be a better option than studying science or commerce at Melb in my situation?

For you, perhaps, I would think about doing a double degree.
I'm usually against double undergrad degrees because you waste so much time getting two Bachelors when you could add an extra year and have a doctorate, or add no extra years and have a masters.

But if you really do want to keep both options open, yes, maybe consider that.  What would you do in commerce though?  You could always look for postgrad options you would be allowed into with a science degree?  I have no idea about commerce related things though, haha (probably evident and I am possibly embarrassing myself with this mini-paragraph).

You mentioned the guaranteed pathway, which you won't get if you go to a double degree at Monash
