What is the relevance of to as in question 2 Exercise 12C?

Sketch graphs of each of the following for t ≥ 0 and find, r(t0), ˙r (t0) and ¨r (t0) for the
given t0:
2a. r(t) = e^ti + e^−tj, t0 = 0

I did every question without regarding it.
