so the formula is , since we are finding the volume between two curves, we do the upper one minus the lower one, so(the terminals are 0 and pi/4 since that is where the curves intersect):



the rest should be pretty straight foward...

Can anyone explain to me as to why we can't just antidifferentiate, substitute and then find the absolute value of the answer for question 9, Exercise 13E?
