What kind of breadth subjects involve a lot of essay writing?

Cos I intend on sitting the GAMSAT in my second year and since it requires a fair bit of essay writing, I thought I'd just get a leg up on the competition by honing my essay writing skills through integrating it into my breadth classes.

Am I right to infer that history/commerce subjects involve the most essay writing?

Firstly uni breadth subjects can be taken by students in any degree not just science,

You'll find most arts subjects have most if not all of their assessment in the form of writing tasks (exam based or otherwise), (Philosophy, creative writing ect.)

Im not sure how useful you will find it for the gamsat however, although the general essay skills may be transferable, remember you have 30 minutes for each essay and the structure you decide to use therein may vary from what you may implement in an arts essay due to lack of time constraints, clearly defined subject parameters and so forth

If you're only interested in studying for the GAMSAT, just go to some of the essay writing help tutes and such, rather than taking an entire subject.

If not, the global health/living longer/ecological history etc. set of breadth subjects all put a focus on written communication. Creative writing only "teaches" you to write creatively and unless you really plan to do that in the exam it won't help. An HPS subject would probably be your best bet.

That said, the essay writing style you'll end up adapting for the GAMSAT is very very different to what you'll use to write a 3000 word essay over 4 weeks.
