I HEREBY PROCLAIM THAT I SHALL READ EVERY ONE BY THE TIME I TAKE THE SECOND GAMSAT.  A challenge I am likely to give up on in one week.

Pay up you crazy genius.

Since when were you in on it Russ???  :p  But honestly, I am that over the moon I don't care.  $10 for both of you.  :)

Cheers vea.

For those interested, my score was

Section 1: 56
Section 2: 64
Section 3: 83

Overall: 71 (97th percentile)

The Melb weighting brings it down to 68 (~94th percentile), but with good GPA/interview, I am hoping that it will be enough. :)
Worst case scenario I will go to Gippsland.

But OMG, yayy, I get to have a summer!!! This is so exciting.

Thanks everyone...i'm pretty sure most of you were talking me out of the gap year option, and it seems to have been the right decision.

And honestly, if I can manage a decent score on GAMSAT, then I am pretty sure you will own it mavis!!!
2011-13: BBiomed (Microbiology & Immunology Major) @ UniMelb

VCE 2009'10: English 46 | English Language 49 | Chemistry 50 | Biology 50 | Further Mathematics 48 | Mathematical Methods CAS 39
ATAR: 99.85

hey dude well done!

Just to clarify, you are first year biomed and you did the gamsat. Does this mean you can go straight to med next year instead of continuing on with biomed?

Did you do a shit load of study?

No you have to complete an undergrad degree if you want to do MD at melbourne.

No, it's graduate medicine so you have to have completed a degree or be completing it the year before starting.

I got 78 up from 68 on my first shot so I'm really happy :)

71 is really fantastic for sitting it the first time though, given the test itself is a bit of an experience!

Yup I'm in biomed.  First time I just went over some basic science, second time I did the ACER books and wrote some practice essays.  I only really studied during the uni semester.

I see S3 did you justice, any questions you found particularly difficult?
