I thought the gamsat only last for 2 years... so for 2012 entry and 2013 entry. If your in first year, you have to take it again, because you are 2014 entry. Nevertheless, I doubt you would do worse than 90%tile with 97% on a first shot...

The GAMSAT UK scores can't be used for entry in the next year.  So if you sit the 2011 UK GAMSAT, you can't use the score for 2012 entry, but you can for 2013 or 2014 making it two years.

Yeah I think so. But mainly other post grad courses have reduced full fee guaranteed entry I believe.

Out of curiosity, did you get in off Guaranteed Entry, or did you get in through GAMSAT + Interview + GPA?

I got in through GAMSAT. I only had full-fee guaranteed entry so if I wanted CSP, I would have had to sit GAMSAT.

@ mavisgibbons.  I'll be chasing you up for my $10 when results come out. :p

You owe me and mavis $10

Pay up you crazy genius.

Since when were you in on it Russ???  :p  But honestly, I am that over the moon I don't care.  $10 for both of you.  :)

Cheers vea.

For those interested, my score was

Section 1: 56
Section 2: 64
Section 3: 83

Overall: 71 (97th percentile)

The Melb weighting brings it down to 68 (~94th percentile), but with good GPA/interview, I am hoping that it will be enough. :)
Worst case scenario I will go to Gippsland.

But OMG, yayy, I get to have a summer!!! This is so exciting.

Thanks everyone...i'm pretty sure most of you were talking me out of the gap year option, and it seems to have been the right decision.

And honestly, if I can manage a decent score on GAMSAT, then I am pretty sure you will own it mavis!!!

I see S3 did you justice, any questions you found particularly difficult?

Umm, there was some pretty crazy O-Chem on there...like stuff we never covered in chem for biomed. There were also questions on Physics stuff which I had never really seen before.  But then again, it wasn't like I had studied properly for it.  A lot of the time they give you enough info so you can work out/derive things on the spot, even if you have never done them before.

Biol section is also kinda trippy.  There is your standard questions on cardiac cycle, genetics, oxygen binding curves, signalling pathways, the cell cycle and osmosis....the rest is just interpretation of stupid graphs and diagrams which are often poorly constructed.

i.e.  This is definitely what I think of when someone says 'biology':
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gait

There were like six questions on interpreting those piece of crap graphs!!!

The GAMSAT UK scores can't be used for entry in the next year.  So if you sit the 2011 UK GAMSAT, you can't use the score for 2012 entry, but you can for 2013 or 2014 making it two years.

Haha, yepp!  I annoyed the guy at the MDHS for days until he got confirmation from ACER that this was the case.
