I've actually started noticing this myself, I seem to get really tired eyes between 8 and 9pm even though I'm getting 8-9 hours of sleep a night. It sucks.

Exactly the same as me man! Back in year 8 I could easily smash out 4 hours a night when it was obviously completely unneccesary, and lately I've been doing about 2 and feeling destroyed at 9. The solution = don't slay the women on the weekend and you won't be tired! But think about priorities of course. Women > study

Hmm verbs such as 'slaying' and 'ravaging' these days have different connotations, although remain somewhat accurate in a sense :D

Diet? Maybe eating low-carb stuff helps? My mum's taken in to eating these dried cranberry stuff with lots of Vitamin C, plus orange juice, Vit C tablets... It sounds like we're a hard-core health family but that's hardly the case if you see what we ACTUALLY eat. But it's good for clearing my mind lately.

Get a good brekkie or lunch to keep you guys alert throughout school. Try eating proper sandwiches, and not anything with too many carbs because that just makes you sleepy.

Maybe you guys just need a quick nap after school. I used to do this, but it eventually turned from a "quick nap" to a ~2-3 hour sleep. So now i go take walks with my dogs after school (30 mins) and then start some homework.

But then again, i think our whole neighbourhood knows we're nocturnal.

Yeah, I'm getting this too - I'm on hols now too - I get tired so easily and fatigued. I don't know why, but my brain is working at 10% all the time. It's annoying! My sleep patterns are okay.

Nobody is superhuman: at this point in the year (right before final holidays), it's VERY natural to get extremely tired.  My recommendation is that you all take two or so days off as soon as you can in the holidays, where you just do nothing except what you find leisurely.  Some of you might think this is a waste of time, but trust me, you'll NEED the recharge in energy.  You're not going to burn out at this point in the year, but you CAN get very, very, VERY tired, and that's something that will definitely hinder your performance.

If I had to give my #1 tip on how to stay active throughout the day, its this:

Take a ~15 min jog in the morning before you go school. Put some pump up music on. Not only does it spring up your metabolism for the day and keeps you wide awake and active, it also gives you time to reflect on your goals and aspirations and leave you motivated for the rest of the day. It does wonders for myself.
