Monash Art/Law

I put this in another category before.

But all year I thought I wanted to do medicine, and I don't think I am mature enough to enter it next (that and a crappy UMAT which conveniently also revealed my new dream)

SO I want to do Arts/Law...I don't just like the idea, but i think it suits me better off as a person.

The thing is, everything i picked was for Med...phys, chem, methods etc

Whilst I do well, I didn't act the mid years and the clearly in for Arts/LAw is 98.40....

Just wondering, what do I do now?  ::)

why do you want to do arts/law and what do you think it will involve?
idk what you mean about not being 'mature' enough to do med....  i presume any university degree requires a degree of maturity. That said there are a lot of people at uni I would consider immature...
don't worry about the subjects you took in year 12. Pretty much all you need to do well is an ability to write coherent sentences under time pressure and organisation/time management. The best indication of how well you will do is how well you end up doing on any 'essay' based vce exams.
It's also difficult to predict your ATAR before hand. i did three of my seven vce subjects in year 11 and my highest scaled score was something like 40/41. Final year I got pretty lucky and got good scores in important subjects (i.e. English) which pushed my ATAR up substantially. VCE is random so don't give up on it.

If you are set on med, put med as your first option, arts/law second option and then put any other degree you would also considering doing below that in order of preference. If you are set on doing arts/law, put arts as your next preference after arts/law. Do 1 year of arts at uni, pick all the easy subjects and blitz a HD average. Transfer into arts/law from second year on. It's easier than it sounds and I'd hazard a guess that 30% of law students at Monash got into law this way.

I think the blitz a HD average in Arts in first year than do a transfer will  considerably be more difficult now. Priority will always go to the school leavers, and given Melbourne's lack of undergrad law, Monash law is the most viable choice for school leavers.

they've said that every year since introduction of melbourne model. every year i still see heaps of people transferring in this way. I'm pretty sure if you get a HD average you're pretty much in.
