Section B - Need Confirmation

Hey,
For the exam i'm looking to write an expository essay. I have been to a few revision lectures and received advice from my teacher and as a result it has all just confused me, so wondering if anyone could clear some stuff up for me on a few things.
It's alright to use quotes and evidence from external events to the texts studied isn't it?
And that said, with the texts that we have done, my class has down two out of the four, so on the exam do we make reference to only one or both?
Also when we are putting in evidence to support our idea, such as quotes, do you include quotation marks or simply paraphrase?
Cheers

Yes you can use external references. I also asked a vcaa assessor about the use of multiple texts, she said that what ever you write down on the cover should be the one you refer to most but you can refer to your other texts as well but not as much.

You can also make links to the other in the same piece, but ensure you don't confuse the examiner as to which one is your main focus.
Also when we are putting in evidence to support our idea, such as quotes, do you include quotation marks or simply paraphrase? - Either, depending on what is appropriate (and if you can remember accurately enough).
