NEW USERS: Forum Necromancy. (Revival of Dead Threads) MUST READ

(1/5) > >>

Mao:
For new users/lurkers:

AN has many threads. Sometimes you get lost in all the reading. While you're digging through all the boards of miscellaneous discussions, you're going to run into some thread on page 15 that you feel you would like to reply to.

Please don't, that thread has been sleeping, people haven't bothered to look at it for a while now. Unless you have a good reason (like new materials that will reignite the discussion), please don't wake it up. (This act is called necromancy)

Look for the red text just above the post dialogue. If there is a warning telling you the post is more than XX days old, please don't revive it unless you have a good reason. Otherwise, we encourage you to start a new topic.

Cheers,
Mao

PS. The original post was written 4 years ago. Read below for the original immature version.

BAD~~~~~!!!  :o

lol ppl please dnt post in dead topic (like a few weeks old) and bring it back up with a single comment, like "i would've voted yes but it's closed now, but i agree with ur opinion"
new people i understand that ur new and eager to find out everything about this forum, but there is simply too much to read, when i first joined up i was trying to read everything, and gave up 2 days later (and never completed that task for the matter)

its easier if u eased into posting, and slowly become a forum whore,  ;D (lol that is so me)

at the end of the day, let the dead topics rest in peace...

xD

Seconded. Necromancy is annoying unless there is something important you have to say about it. If it's just another plain opinion (yes, no, or something that's already been discussed), there's no need to revive it.

Toothpaste:
Dead corpses smell bad too. Stop digging them up.

Wst:
I suggest that most dead topics should be deleted after an extended amount of time, if there is no point in reviving them.

Lock rather than delete, so that they can still be readable. :)
