Well to have decent extended response you really need to keep up to date with the news, i watched lateline almost every night before bed on ABC at 10.30pm its a very handy source to improve extended response because you wont get good marks without real examples, even quotes from politicians on certain policies being implemented are really helpful.. For short answer you need to know your text book back to front basically because you don't know what you'll be asked, have heaps of knowledge on all four AoS (Washington to canberra, people and policy, foreign policy and contiuinity and change). The subject gets marked up 3 and its not even that hard, plus not many kids do it which should make it even easier to get a high score in it if you put in the effort, goodluck :)

i did it at the CAE in 2010, different teacher at the time.

Let me know what textbook this new teacher tells you to use. if its the indigo handbook one, borrow it from the city library dont buy it. its crap. rod wise who wrote it is very biased.

there is another textbook out which was published through the same one who did the international studies textbook, the library should have a copy of it since i requested in 2010 that they got a copy. use that one, its much better.

also hit me up if you have questions about anything, im not majoring in politics at uni and ugh, a whole semester on Australian politics.

in the exam at the end of the year though, you need to focus on DEFINITIONS with EXAMPLES.
you need to do TWO ESSAYS, one for unit 3 and one for unit 4. DECIDE WELL BEFORE THE EXAM of which aos you will write on, DO NOT change your mind once you sit the exam. otherwise you will waste your time with study as you can heavily focus on your essay areas more than the others.

oh, and if this will be your first time at CAE, use building C as much as you can with the study space. they are open until 8pm and it is so quiet in there after 5pm. Hell, i still go there sometimes to study for uni since its so nice there and uni is so busy.

Lmao, this is crazy. This thread is so quiet! Yeah, i'm doing natpol next year. :) Was there a point to this topic? I forgot. I was so shocked to see how quiet this thread/board (whatever you call it) is.
