What is the Further Maths rule for rounding. Say if a question asked me to round up to 1 decimal place, and the answer i got was 12.8456.

You typically don't round until the final answer is needed. A good thing to do on the Classpad 330 is to fix the number of decimal places before calculating. You can do this in the menu (icon next to edit -> basic format -> number format -> fix 1).

For 12.8456, to 1 d.c. -> 12.8

make sure you change it back for other subjects though, you dont want to think an answer is an exact value since its given to 1 dp place in spesh.

If there are questions that follow from the one that requires rounding, do you use the rounded answer or the unrounded answer in the calculations?

yes put it on fix. ive found that when doing trig, even if you hav it set to like FLOAT 6 sometimes it rounds it off to 2 decimal places, dont know if its just me does anyone else hav this problem?... so yeah FIX 4 works best for me

i don't know about the technical aspect of using the calculator either..
i'm doing trigonometry, graphs and relations and matrices.
what setting should i put my CAS calculator?

it's currently DEG AUTO REAL and float 8.
what does this even mean?

fix 4 means it will always give 4 decimal places, whereas float 12 will give 12 digits (so it includes those before a decimal point) where necessary.

DEG AUTO REAL refers to
Angle type (Degrees or radians), not sure about AUTO, REAL gives real number solutions (as opposed to imaginary ones (i think imaginary is only spesh))

float 8 means 8 digits.

Never change it from DEG when doing trig, i got like 1/30 in a prac exam simpley because it wasnt in DEG and all the answers coming up on my calc were wrongg, always have DEG on!!!
