Who said university is only about getting a job :P

You could go to university and learn some maths that's more interesting than stuff covered in VCE...

I would consider this, but I don't know if I can afford to just go to university for fun, unless I can get a scholarship.

The HECS fee system makes going to university in Australia very affordable for those from a lower income household.

Also,  university definitely isn't the be-all and end-all of making money. In fact, plenty of millionaires didn't go to University or even dropped out of school. Conversely however, if you're interested in maths then going to university is the fastest and perhaps most sure way to enable yourself to find a career in a field relevant to your interests - otherwise nobody would go in the first place.

Uni fees aren't that much more than your school fees at the moment...

If you're a domestic student, money shouldn't be a big issue since there's the HECs system and all sorts of other government programs (probably one of great things about Australia).

Also you may be eligible for Youth Allowance which would give you a couple extra hundred a fortnight as well as extra money to help with books. You can also apply for needs based scholarships. http://www.centrelink.gov.au/internet/internet.nsf/payments/ya_rates.htm
If you wanna learn more as well as the more interesting stuff then go to uni or you may end up regretting it later.

Why don't you aim for a 50 in methods as well, if you can get a 50 in specialist, there should be no reason whatsoever as to why you can't get a 50 in methods, just chop the silly errors

If you can do that, you've got two 50's in the bag :P

in all honesty, it's hard to get a 50 in any subject.

Yes but I am a lot more enthusiastic than most people at maths. I study for so much longer than other people and I can already do most year 12 problems even though I'm already in year 11.
A 50 study score definitely takes effort to get, but I was asking if it was achievable or completely out of reach for a student like me.

2013 ATAR - 88.50

obviously if you think u can get a 50, then you can, but its not gonna be a piece of cake even though you can do some year 12 problems (i doubt you can do most just yet, have you done exams? textbook questions are easier)
in short, can you get 50? yes
will it be hard? no shit, even if you're smart at maths, it will take a lot of dedication and hard work

Also minimisation of stupid mistakes. You could know everything back to front, bu under exam conditions do something silly like 2+2=6 and well there it goes.

50 is not easy. 45+ is not easy.

Even getting a 40 in any subject can be deemed 'hard' imo. You have to remember that you're in the top 8% of students for 40+ study scores!! You'll still have to work your butt off!

I don't mean to make a radical suggestion, but OP, what answer were you expecting as an answer to your question "Is it hard to get a 50 in specialist?" - like Bazza said, you know the answer to that question

Nobody else can quite answer that question because we don't know you
