E.g. if you have two variables, size of car (1=small, 2=medium, 3=large) and salary level (1=low, 2=med, 3=high)

i kinda guessed that it was a percentaged segmented bar chart.
\does anyone have any summary pages they could upload from their textbook or something on this stuff? i'm not fully clear.

Yeah i did that a while back, got it wrong, i'm not sure about any notes regarding why you would pick a segmented bar chart, but if you narrow down the answers, you can cross them all off except this one, based on he fact that you would only use say a scatterplot for two numerical values., not categorical
shoved my thumb up my grandma's cat's butthole when I was 8..

...seemed funny at the time kk? :(

i dont have an ebook so ill just write up the table

dependent                independent                    graph
categorical               categorical                    segmented bar chart
categorical                numerical                     parallel box plot
categorical                 numerical                    back to back stem plot
(only if there are two categories)
numerical                  numerical                     scatterplot

Two questions that i didnt understand...

1. Ian has just completed research into the percentage of males and females who smoke, according to their employment and classification. The best graph uesd to describe this?

2. The relationship b/w the variables size (small, medium, large, extra large, extra extra large) and number ordered is best displayed by?

Both answers had "Segmented bar chart", which means that all variables must be categorical. But how are percentage of males and females and also number ordered categorical?

1. segmented bar graph since emplyment and classification are both categorical
2.sizing is also categorical therefore segmentted bar chart, refer to my earlier post and see if you can understand it

Is one of those meant to have numerical as dependant and categorical is independant :/ ... or is there two options for when categorical is dependant and numerical is independant?

hmm that could be an error, unless number order is just first,second,third... ect
