writing outside the lines

Ive noticed in alot of past papers that the amount of lines that provide us to include working outs and answers is not enough, is it okay if we write outside the lines/underneath? Or split the lines into half since you wont need the full length of the line? if that makes sense lol

As long as your writing can be understood and followed, you need not just write within the lines. You may even have to use a space on a different page. If so, then make sure you indicate that next to the actual question.
