So I know that manufacturing organizations provide a tangible product which can be standardized and stored --they produce
whereas a service, provides something that is preformed and specific to a particular customer

What are retailers like target and and coles then?
they don't directly produce, maufactuRe the products they sell...most are from other companies like Kraft

I've always thought of goods / services as a continuum rather than a categorical thing.. something like target and coles would be more goods rather than service because they provide you with a tangible object (regardless if they manufactured it or not) however you can go as deep as saying that they provide a small service by folding your clothes before putting them in the bag or other small things like that.

Overall I'd place Target or Coles where the X is on this line
Goods |-X---------------------------------------| Services

because while they do provide a service it is so small that it's hardly noticed, and you're not paying for the services you're paying for the goods.

Okay that clears things up thanks!
However,  in some cases depending on the scenario we could say that an organization is both a manufacturing and service organization right? As long as we justify it..saying that it has elements of both..?
