i don't know about the technical aspect of using the calculator either..
i'm doing trigonometry, graphs and relations and matrices.
what setting should i put my CAS calculator?

it's currently DEG AUTO REAL and float 8.
what does this even mean?

Put it on FLOAT, that gives like more than enough decimal places. I think all, i always have mine on float.

If a question doesn't specify any decimal places, should we just leave it as it is? For example if a question asks for The coefficient of determination for this data set is 0.8081. Explain the variation.

Would I say 81% of the variation ... or would I say 80.81%? Does it matter? I always seem to do 2 decimal places if it doesn't specify.

on vcaa exams they usually always specify, but if they dont as long as you show where you got your previous answer from im pretty sure its fine

Be careful about FIXing the number of decimal places in your calculator.
If you have an intermediate answer WITHIN a question, you should not use any rounded (FIXed) number in a calculation toward your final answer.

you can just select the
number from your calculator, it saves the recent ones. i always do that
