no i think your right. just been ingrained into our class-better to be safe than sorry with workings. i must say i feel a tad stupid, i found that exam a little challenging compared to the previous years one and am kind of amazed at those who think they got 38+ marks. congrats to all of you that did, and even 35= is an awesome effort, i think so anyways.

however i think working for matrices stuff can be as simple as just substituting in T to the power of whatever as a matrix and whatever the matrix S is, not actually the whole times bit. i'm not sure. i hope so anyways cause i will not have enough time to go through and manually multiply everything out etc. that would just be unrealistic, i hope

yeah obviosly there dont expect you to them by hand. just gotta show what your doing on the calculator before you present your answer stuff like:
T^3*S1=[...]

My predictions...
Core - transformations, 3-median lines, r/r^2, etc
Business - same sort of things as on MC, but with more hire purchase, reducing balance loans and I'm going to guess something to do with describing the type of interest from a graph
Networks - 1 question devoted to EST/LST, crashing, floats, etc
Matrices - more transition matrices

just found this from one of vcaa's assesment reports:
"• Rounding off should only occur at the final answer stage in a question, not halfway through the calculation. However, in cases where the answer to a previous question must be used, the rounded version of the previous answer may be used without penalty. (Students could also use the unrounded version of the previous answer without penalty.)"

there was a whole heap of reading in this exam that one could stuff up, if they read but 1 phrase wrong. i confess i ran out of time. however only on the ones i skipped and had to come back to. huge hea ache afterward, and glad its over.
