What artist are you planning to study for the exam?
Cinnah:
But your frame is probably beautiful though, and not made in a child labor factory like cheap ones would be? :P
Maybe the frame didn't count to make playing field even for people who couldn't afford it.
I am a little pissed, my teacher refused to tell me the marks for my final piece, so I still don't know what I got.
Mine's all done on circular boards covered in hessian :/ It was about $30, but I got the school admin to repay me in cash when I brought recepits, because it's 'taken care of' in school fees ;D
xdecay:
haha no but the way it was framed was part of the aethetic qualities which communicate the meanings behind my artwork. it was on a float mount so there was a silhouette cast upon the matt board (my work was an intricate paper cut out with maze pattern as background) and the shadow was part of my work.
yeah, we didn't get a mark either. for all our assessed work at school, we only get an indication.
the grading goes like: outstanding, excellent, very good, good, fair, meets minimum requirements, poor.
and my box was outstanding so i'm guessing that's an a+? haha.
wow you got reimbursed! that's amazing. that sort of compensates for the amount of glue you used aha.
Cinnah:
hahahaha yeah, it was only for the mounting boards though <__< the folio wasn't apparently included in that, so all the other money was kept by the school. I believe it was part of aesthetic qualities, but nobody in my class needed to frame...
Two people used large canvases, another person did big watercolour portraits, another did a big rectangular montage type thing on a large board, another did a large collage, one did a mixed medium thing. Mine was I guess the smallest as far as individual pieces go, and definitely the most intricate...
I still got not even an indication... pretty bummed but oh well.
I'd love to see your work! Maybe at top arts ;D
How amazing if the active posters here all got in...
