I was actually in that program! Maybe I'll recognise you and won't even realise you're from AN, hahah.

Oh goodness...

Well, I was one of the supermentors, cuts out a lot of people
I am male, so you have a 1/4 chance of guessing.
I am also not Oriental Asian, so halves the chance again :P

Well then... :3

(AN chocolate) <tisaraiscool> Does it taste like b^3's brain?

Look, I know a total of 0 supermentors, I didn't even get to know my own... :P So, I probably won't be able to find you unless I walk up to all of supermentors who fit that description. :P (then again, that'd be about 2-3 people, so I'll only look like a fool to two people if I randomly guess ;) )

What exactly does this involve?

Basically, you sign up with a group of 5-7 people. You then compete in two challenges held throughout the next two weeks - nothing has been disclosed about the challenges other than you should only need a few hours to complete them, and have about 2-3 days to submit them. If you win a challenge, your team gets $1000.

Then, sometime after the two challenges, there's a finalist challenge where a bunch of industry partners will gather to watch the top ten teams complete one final challenge. The winner of this challenge gets $2000, and the top three get to present their solutions to the challenge. Everyone who attends also gets an opportunity to network with the industry partners that show up.

There will also be opportunities to get bonus points, which will increase the possibility of your team getting into the finals round.

No information has been given out about what the challenges might be.

I'd highly recommend any jaffy's who can get involved in Open Day for their Faculty to really take the chance, it's a good way to know people in your faculty and you actually get this warm fuzzy feeling when all these year 12s/11s actually want to hear about your experiences haha. Get around it! :)

I think I'll volunteer to show people around the halls of residence so I can bias them all into believing my hall is the best >:D!!!

My understanding is that it is usually the host university that decides whether your WAM is good enough to admit you, not Monash. For example, the UK universities each have their own GPA requirements, which I imagine they would enforce quite strictly.

Japan is a bit different to other countries, so there's little point in me talking about my own exchange experience unless that's where you plan on going.

I recently sent them an email saying if I need an extra requirement other than the pre-reqs set by monash..they said no..I assume I still have a chance then..I'm planning to go to Turkey

So I just got a GPA of 4, but I only completed three subjects. I'm planning to defer next semester and then transfer next year to another uni interstate, will my GPA be multiplied by 75% since I only did 3/4 of a full time load? I remember seeing something to this effect on QTAC.

Just another question to throw in with the whole bunch that are now here:

I know how the GPA and WAM are both calculated, but what's the difference otherwise? And do employers/whoever prefer one over the other? Because I read that Monash use WAM for transfers and such, but otherwise I don't really know the difference... :S

Hi all,

Just wondering if someone could shed some light on what the process is if I intend on viewing my exam script? Is there a fee? How and what do I email if I'm from the faculty of Law?

Thanks :)

I don't think there's a fee on viewing exam scripts. Some unit co - ordinators can be very unhelpful - they go like 'NO YOU CAN'T VIEW IT.'
But generally they'll let you see it. Basically you would email the co - ordinator of the unit you want to view your papers in, and go from there.

Also, is anyone being an ambassador at Open Day? (except friends Disafear and pi) I'm representing the Faculty of Business and Economics again this year. Hopefully I'll get to see some people here.
