Don't see the appeal of all those balls all that much. Plenty of other ways to get drunk and dance around.
Without the $150 price tag as well.

Question regarding marking - if you get a HD for your hurdle assessment/s, does that automatically mean you get a HD for the whole unit ? Thanks.

Don't forget guys we also have atarnotes (live!) chat which you can find by clicking in my signature. Most of the people there are actually in university :3.

No. Unless the assignment is worth 100% of your grade for the semester. If the assessment is worth 20% of your final grade and you HD it (80% lets say) you get 16% to add to your final grade (and have lost 4% off your final grade out of 100).

A hurdle is only a hurdle in that if you fail it, you (could) fail the entire unit automatically. Usually there is some leeway though. It doesn't work the opposite way though :p. If you pass it, it doesn't automatically mean you pass the entire unit.

I'm guessing that's a no then

What have you heard about comm ball ?!

Comm Ball sucks because they try to cram as many people are physically possible into whatever space they've hired. It's cramped. The "free drinks" should have a disclaimer saying "while stocks last", so use your vouchers quickly or you won't actually get any drinks. The dance floor is tiny again due to trying to cram so many people in. The line to get in is long because again they sold tickets to too many people. The free transport to the club venue afterwards is also inadequate and you'll end up needing to take a cab. And because everyone is trying to go to the same club, the line to get into the club is ridiculous even though it's still early in the evening.

TL;DR: Save your money. Don't go to Comm Ball.

Hey guys!
Is there a thing like transferring within the same department? I'm considering switching from aero to mech. Does the same procedure as internal transfer apply here?

Mech Eng and Aerospace are two separate degrees right? I'd say you'd have to do an internal transfer to move over to Mech Eng as you're technically changing degrees?

I'm confused by your question. If you're swapping to a totally different degree it still is an internal transfer 100%. I would apply as soon as possible since the mid-year dates close much sooner than you'd think.

If you want to change your major within your current degree (which i guess you cant since its called aerospace engineering), contact the faculty for options.

When i signed up for the project there was *one* 9am meeting. Now here is the "revised" schedule.

I feel ripped off.

I have to wake up at or before 6am to get there for those meetings (when he asked if it was a good time, i told him i had to get up 6am and just deathstare).

Also working on organising a potential AN meet. Will compare timetables when i have time a little later in the week.

I don't have a major in my degree. I can only take mech electives in my last year. That's it. I think I will apply for an internal transfer. I'll talk to the faculty tomorrow.
