Sociology???? It's due 11.55pm tonight!

I just started 10 mins ago lol

LOL. I started like 45 minutes ago! 200 words in. What are you actually talking about? Are you just talking about the four factors of a sociological analysis (which is what I've done thus far) or are you talking about functionalism and those other two things?

Blehh … Not going to class is catching up on me.

Is this PHY3990 or Honours or what?

Its a stream of sensation physio. You can either do the standard 4 labs or they got a research stream, subdivided into A,B,C (with different projects).

hey guys does anyone know what percent of laboratories for MTH1010 I have to attend? I have missed the first two classes (one due to not being able to find the place, second week because I thought it was a fortnightly class) and I'm going to miss tomorrows laboratory because I have the flu or something and theres no chance I'm going to 3 hours of consecutive maths and getting everyone sick. i had to leave after 15 minutes in my 2 hour lecture today :(

Three tutorials for arts subjects. I believe your labs are marked though. If you don't show up, you'll just lose marks. They may be a hurdle too though.

A lot of people fail, its highly inadvisable to skip anything that'll give you marks.

Why the hell does chem have a prac every week -.-

Thats fairly normal in first year. In later years, you'll have far less labs though. For psychopharm before they changed it, you only needed to show up 3 times for the entire semester.
Just a quick question, are final grades rounded up to an integer? Just wondering because I have quizzes and a lot of them are worth 1% per quiz which is sometimes 0.1% per mark. Let's say I get 79.5 after all the assessment is added together, will that round up to a 80 HD or is the grade 79.5?

I dont know which direction its rounded or to what degree but your grade is displayed as a whole number on WES.

The best coffee (thats close) is the black place, i think its called artichoke and whitebait. It also has a little sit in/restaurant section. The best on campus is apparently cinque lire. I'm more of a tea guy though and all the places just have teabags. Artichoke might do T2 loose leaves though. Just try it once, if its shit, dont go back.

Almost 1/3rd of the way through semester, hows everyone settling in? Is it different to what you all expected? Any surprises?

Actually, chem is the opposite... I had weeks off in first year, this semester we only have the week before SWOTVac off - and according to friends in third year, there's a lab every week.

Chem has always been really intense. I mean a lab AND a tute? Doesn't happen in many other science subjects that i know of, especially in the biomedical type side of things.

I'm more of a hot chocolate person! I only drink tea at home cos I don't like the way it's made otherwise (I need the perfect amount of milk mixed in hahah), I absolutely can't stand the smell of chai and although coffee smells nice I don't like the way it tastes lol :P

I'm really loving uni this year! I really felt so lost last year, even in semester two but I'm loving all my units this sem and I'm just really loving everything about uni this year! I'm loving the environment and being around friends so much more and I've figured out what study and note-taking routines suit me as well as which library spots I like to sit at. I'm just really loving everything haha! I mean, the travel is still a little annoying (1.5ish hours one way but when there's delays it's soooo annoying) but I carpool 1-2 out of the 3 days so it's not too bad!

How about you guys? How are you finding it?

Amazing campus, loving the environment and atmosphere. The work ethic is quite demanding and fast but hey no one said it'd be a breeze!

It's about what I expected in terms of content/style of learning, I like the facilities also. I'm surprised though because I expected I would have met more people in these first few weeks, but haven't really meet anyone I've 'clicked' with tbh. :( :/

Graduated with Bachelor of Laws (Honours) / Bachelor of Arts from Monash University in June 2020.

Completing Practical Legal Training (Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice)

Offering 2021 Tutoring in VCE Legal Studies (Awarded as Bialik College's top Legal Studies Student in 2014).

Offered via Zoom or in person across Melbourne.  Message me to discuss. Very limited places available.

I've never drank a coffee in my life?

Why not? It surprises me when people don't like to try new foods and such.

It's not fair to assume that. For all you know, he or she could have an allergy or intolerance to caffeine. No need to act superior or presumptuous.

Haha no allergies, just never had an interest in it. I'm still a baby who orders hot chocolate.

Haha, hot chocolate/milo tastes soooo bad once you are hooked onto coffee. Even tea is mehhh compared to the superior awesome addictive tangy prowess of coffee.

Ok, maybe I am a slight addict.

Hot chocolate tastes like death without sugar but chocolate milk is a different story.
