3 Majors

Do you guys think they'd let it? I mean, in my case, Im majoring in Econ + Geography +minor in Pols Sci. However, that's only assuming the minor is only assuming that 3 majors is impossible.

I can fit in 3 in 3 years, with only a 1 semester overload (economics is 112.5 points)

You won't be able to do more than 300 credit points. And, the 3rd major won't be 'counted' as a major on your degree, although it should be fairly bleeding obvious to employers.

Sounds good anyhow. I'm probably not the best person to give an opinion on this though.

Not more than 300? LOL that totally ruins my plans for summering/wintering lots of geology and history subjects! Oh well. Politics minor it is I guess.

Oh and I heard that since the study plan only recognises 1 major, you could ask for another transcript to be printed with the other major in it. Not sure though

Well I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think you need to have a fairly strong case for them to allow you to do more. Or, I think you can just do a Community Access program subject, which would allow you to 'meet' a major requirement within three years (search this). But yeah, best to confirm things with others - just passing on some of my understanding.

For Arts it recognises two.

Oh the extra subs are not part of anything. The subjects are just out of curiosity. The history subs allow me to go to greece, italy, & turkey, or US, or Africa. The geology subs let me go to exotic places of interest. :p

thanks though

Oh in that case it's not the end of the world and sounds like you'll get plenty of enjoyment out of your degree.

Just double check that you will be able to do most of Eco as breadth too - I'm not sure if they will allow this.

Economics is an Arts subject for Arts students. I'm not sure if you can choose to take it almost entirely outside of Arts as breadth. I know for Psychology (which is another interdisciplinary-type overlap subject) I must take 8 subjects as Arts and 2 subjects as breadth.

By Pols Sci you mean Politics and International Studies right?  EDIT: yep, according to your sig. You need to check to make sure they will allow this. Not 100% sure.

Your transcript won't show your major on it, it just has a list of subjects. Your testamur will, but I'm not sure if you can just get another one of those printed

Yeah, I also have to take 6 economics subjects as breadth and 2 as arts disciplines. I already checked if they would allow geography major concurrent with economics and they said it's ok. The politics will just be a filler then :)

Don't try to do more than 300 points, already been there and done that and it's simply not allowed, even if you do have good reason.

It's possible with CAP though. You just have to pay full fee for it I think. My girlfriend accidentally did too many 1st year commerce subjects but needed to do PBL for accounting so she took it in CAP (so total 25 subjects).

Yeah but that's different because it falls under 'poor course advice' (ie it was accidental and she needed a prereq).  It's different if you just want to overload so you can do more majors.

I wanted to do one extra subject, just 12.5 extra points, so that I could major in both Psych and Phys (I'm aware only one would be my 'major' but to fulfill the prereqs for PG Psych you have to have 'majored' (you have to do honours))  and they wouldn't let me do it.  One more subject! >:  Wouldn't have even overloaded due to my advanced standing.
