Well, do you read newspaper everyday instead of just speaking the language?
I do always read through the newspaper for different language and hence easily
to grab any languages including italian.

Well I used to every morning but haven't had the time lately, and now our newspaper subscription was cancelled. I'm just not a linguistically oriented person. Numbers make more sense to me. Really we probably should be learning another language (i.e. make it compulsary) but the way the learning a language is viewed by a lot of students needs to be changed, otherwise as said above there is no point as they don't try.
LOLs99:
Yeah, no point forcing someone to study asian language if they are not interested even though I'm doing it.
Actually one thing good is if you meet these people form other country , you can speak to them (alhtough not fluent) confidently, instead of going to get a tranlsator which will really be awkward..I hope I can learn like every country languages before 60 so I might get a world language award and was included in the history after years and years.ahaha :D
giveup:
I was forced to learn Italian for 5 years, from those many years of classes I did not remember a single word from the language. Those that do not have an interest will simply not learn, and you really can't insight an interest in something like a second language.

That's why most people from overseas can pick up languages easily. They are taught how to learn languages properly. Here, kids are thrown in the deep end and told to regurgitate essay after essay which literally has no real meaning to the student.
