Why are checkpoints useful?

are checkpoints just questions from past vcaa exams? If so, then why would ppl buy them when u can get access to these questions for free from the net. And if u do checkpoints first u will have already seen the same question when u do the vcaa papers for the first time, so it wouldnt giv u an accurate idea of how u would score in your real vcaa exam.

Maths checkpoints are just from past vcaa exams, but chem ones actually include original questions and the solutions are far more reliable. IMO it's best to buy second hand checkpoints, unless it's a new study design, all you get for paying all that money for a new checkpoints is last year's exam in the back. Rip off.

So, do chem ones include alot of original questions or jus some, and is it worth the money?

If you can get a cheap secondhand copy it's worth it (I have unit 4 09 chem checkpoints if you want, can't find unit 3 though, just PM me if interested) but it's up to you, like pi said, not crucial.

Lol, but I found it useful/important for my science subjects but not others like maths.

Ok, but I'm in year10 now (2011) not year 9..
So it's better for me to finish the year12 stuff before year12 starts.
